Do your students want to move beyond basic data presentation and analysis? Do students want to become investigators and harness the power of big data, with presentation and geo location tools?

Google Fusion Tables is one of the most exciting new tools Google offers and provides advanced data visualization linked to your Google Drive.

This interactive workshop will introduce Google Fusion Tables (Beta) and how to locate and use open data sources to answer questions and create stories around data sets.

- Locating open data sources
- Importing data to Google Fusion Tables
- Merging tables and handling Geo data

Google Spreadsheets, Forms and Scripts
Ever wanted to do more with Google Forms in the classroom? This session will delve into the use of Google scripts. We will concentrate on AutoCrat and FormMule and build a Google Form that will utilise some of the features of both these scripts. Both scripts allow e-mails, calendar events and pdf's to be created as a result of the entry from a Google form. We will also look at some cool ways to use formulas in a Google Spreadsheet. This will be a hands on session and a PC or Mac would be the best device to use.

Google Apps Administration and Management 'Advanced Topics'
In this session we go beyond the beginners session to look at best practices for using Google Apps based on the most successful Google Apps schools I have been involved with.

This sessions is suitable for both school IT managers/staff and school administrators. Generally this is a small group so much of the session will be taken up with an informal Q and A format where attendees can bring their questions and we can discuss solutions that will work for your school. We look at topics such as:

User administration: Good practice for suspending/deleting accounts and Google Docs when people leave. Giving some staff members access to perform limited admin tasks such as resetting passwords.
integrating Google Apps with external systems such as ActiveDirectory so that when new students are added their gmail account is created automatically
Using ‘resource calendars’ to centrally manage all your booking of resources across the school (everything from computer carts to rooms)
Managing Google+ across your school How to enable Google Plus for some and turn off for others
Filtering and blocking of student email. We look at real world examples
LMS options with Google Apps. Best practices for starting the journey to use Google Apps as an LMS for your school, options from the Google Apps Marketplace and Moodle integration
